Look back at your preliminary task what do you think you have learnt from the progression of it to the full task?

Editing On Final Cut Pro (evidence of editing)
This is some of the screen shots of my thriller opening The Last Move. I used final cut pro as it was a quality editing software that perfectly helped me put what image i had in my head onto the screen.
I used effects such as fades, filters, dissolves as well as custom ones to help with a smoother transition between shots, however still tried not to do too much confusing editing so the audience don't get confused as well as complimenting the scenes.

As you can see in the last three shots i have used long shots so the audience has a sense of the enviroment as well as using short close up shots of things in the environment such as signs and gates to help prolong the main story line of the opening as it helps to build suspense and tension within the audience. The text that can be seen was implemented through final cut pro as i picked a font that best suited the style of the opening as well as the transition and effect to go with it.

question 5
how did you attract/address your audience?
reasons why my audience stay attracted:
To keep my audience i used many techniques to keep my audience engaged. Firstly I used a gritty logo and font in my production logo which comes in slowly to build tension and a sense of anxiety within the audience, to complement this, i used black dissolve transitions in the first shots to build a sense of suspense as the character has been introduced (although his face too has not yet been shown, which also helps build enigma within the thriller). There is then a high angle view of the character walking which makes the audience feel as if they are looking at the character themselves from a far which gives the the feeling that they are in the film with the character too as this helps them to feel more engaged with plot. Further within my thriller i then use many short cut shots of signs, close ups of gates as well as empty spaces in order to signify to the audience a feeling of being trapped and engaged, same as the protagonist. Before the action of my thriller occurs, the suspenseful and sinister music that has been playing from the beginning to change and become more fast pace, this further grips the audience as this then creates anticipation as they want to see more as this foreshadows action, throughout the action short cut scenes i also complemented it by using on beat editing to satisfy the audience, then i used the music to create further suspense as it becomes quite again to make the audience think the danger is gone. I Then use a close up shot at the climax of the silence of the thriller as the protagonist can be seen to be hiding behind a wall with another character walking past were he is hiding, but the low key lighting used doesn't allow for the bad characters face to be seen as this further aids the enigma of my thriller, the silence continues as this still grips the audience as another shot is used to make it seem as if it is a first person view of the protagonist looking to see if the area is clear. The climax is fully built at this point until the protagonist is caught, however i make the screen blury by making it out of focus so what happens to the protagonist isn't clear as the title of the film " The Last Move" in then presented on the screen.
